• The Egyptian vitreoretinal society is Egypt's leading organization providing research, information and advocacy in the field of vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. Founded in 1998 by a group of talented and devoted ophthalmologists, the society conducts meetings and various educational activities in an effort to provide the highest quality patient care and maintain professional and ethical standards through education, research and other professional activities.

• Organize meetings and educational forums concerning various vitreoretinal diseases and their management
• Issue periodical leaflets stating the recent advances in this field
• Train general ophthalmologists in the field of vitreoretinal surgery by holding regular meeting at various educational facilities to ensure quality service to our patients.
• Exchange visits and share experiences with various international surgeons all over the world to broaden our horizons
• Educate patients about the retinal diseases and their role in their prevention
• Provides a data base about the various retinal disorders in Egypt and their pattern
